Mythodea / Festival of Life, With a little death...
05.12.2023
Baron Dagger of East Blackwood, Sir Bødvar Tok and Marik Fulgrimson invited dignitaries, allies, friends and their friends to a Festival of Life hosted in North East Kahl'Hatra. The gathering was intended to be a moment where one could relax, drink, sing and remember what they fight for. In some ways it was. In other ways, such as the murder, crystal scars, would-be-assassin, Ice Witch vision and maybe even a demon, less so.
The Salty Stick Opens in Kahl'Hatra
Marik Fulgrimson opened The Salty Stick Tavern as planned welcoming in the honored guests as they arrived. East Blackwood gathered around opening time at their table within the tavern where a letter from the crow mastery warned of the coming of "someone" to "retrieve" Lady Anna-Katharina von Rabenau. This tiding did not serve to ruin the good humor of the hosts and their guests as drinks began to flow and dice began to roll.
More Crystals and the Dark Effect of Healing Them
As day broke, more and more crystals appeared including one that flashed various colors perched right in front of the building the Archon of the South was staying in. Master Gideon Klaud had been tasked with finding the source of and reason for these strange appearances and, if needed, removing them. Throughout the day, Master Gideon worked with willing guests of the festival to learn what he could and find solutions. May reported seeing and even feeling visions when interacting with the glowing crystals. The visions were all negative in nature which led many to attempt to solve whatever circumstance they presented. These are excerpts from Master Gideon's report.
Report of the events in the "Salty Stick" tavern from 24-26.11.3NdK.
By Master Mage Gideon Klaud.
Before arriving at the village [where the Salty Stick] tavern [is currently located], I was told by messengers that the workers who were renovating the place heard strange voices talking to them. However, the words were unintelligible and no cause could be found for them.
When [Baron Dagger, Fennix and I] arrived there with a larger group [and festival guests], the voices [appeared to] began to manifest themselves in a kind of crystal. On examining the crystals of different people, it was found that the crystals were directly connected to the land. There were six different ones. Each one had an imbalance of Ignis energy. Since the area one was [once] a Razash'Dai village, we thought this was very likely. It seemed like they were some kind of root of the land searching for a certain form of energy.
The first one appeared in the tavern itself. After some investigation, we found that the crystal lacked the Ignis aspect of intoxication. By producing this "emotion" it could be removed; or it disappeared by itself after a while. The next one appeared at the [central bon fire]. Number three appeared in the lower part of the village. It seemed to have an imbalance from the "destruction" aspect. We could compensate for this after a few failures with the "creation" aspect.

First Crystals Appear
Almost as soon as Validar took the ruined Razash'Dai village from the Black Dynasty, whispers had been heard. At first they were not spoken of but over time the frequency in which they were being heard increased. By the time the festival was set to begin, they could no longer be ignored. Sometimes after Baron Dagger briefly spoke to the festival guests, the first Crystal appeared.
The first crystal appeared in the tavern on a table close to the bar. It was accompanied by a vision of those who tried to interact with it. Reportedly, the vision was of a group of people, somber in appearance, reluctantly accepting their lot. Not longer after the first crystal appeared, another appeared near the central bonfire. The crystals glowed either blue or red.
As the night wore on the crystal in the tavern began to flicker. Soon people began to believe that there was something missing in that area; an aspect of Ignis. So, the guests and warriors of Validar ordered more drinks until the festival supply stores near ran dry. The crystal stopped glowing and then disappeared. No further voices were heard save for the one in ones head telling one not to drink so much.

The Fourth Crystal appeared in front of one of our guests' dwellings. The crystal seemed to have an excess of "rage". Through a self-experiment, one of the settlers was briefly possessed by a spirit of the Razash'Dai. After the rage and anger had been consumed by combat actions, this crystal also disappeared.
[Other reports collected by various Embassy Guards suggest that the aspect may not have been rage but rather revenge due to the nature of the vision it produced. The vision was from the perspective of members of the Glut or Embers who had been cut down by the Razash'Dai in question for trying to flee the fight against the Black Ice.]
The next [crystal] was found outside another house in the village. It had a lack of "fellowship" and was removed by a "group hug?" [The Embassy Guard Gerhardt was present for this action and confirmed the method stating a collected group of guests welcomed a WayFaherer into their family and sealed it with a hug. The crystal promptly disappeared.]
[The Embassy Guard Gerhardt also reported having watched another group of festival guests heat up a crystal that had been making people cold and it too disappeared after. The description of the vision the crystal had produced was that of a Sharun who had frozen two people to death on that spot which lends to the idea that a lack of the aspect of warmth needed to be corrected.]
The last crystal was discovered in front of the shrine, a building adjacent to the tavern.
It contained "Betrayal". It was removed by an Honorable Duel [between Embassy Guard Captains Varn Delany and Lordas Palatinus].
The Dark Effects
When Crystals were removed it was reported that the scars in the fabric of the land were removed. Other examinations suggested that there was no corruption of Forsaken Power entering the region once the Crystals disappeared. Yet, after each time a Crystal was vanished, the East Blackwood's Company's master scribe, Mako Tock, would often vomit black liquid and or collapse. She was then speak as if from another voice with strange proclamations of doom.
Mako was examined by powerful mages but the details of their findings have yet to be made public. Mako appears to have lost her memory of who she was, what her name is and who her friends are. She now calls herself Snowflake. Mako has been escorted by to Nova Bretonia in the Western Seal by the Nova Bretonian Knight Sir Alsrik and by William Tock of the East Blackwood Company. There, she will undergo further examination.
Some guests whispered of a potential demon but "The Ambassador" can neither confirm nor deny these rumors.
Hag and Gifts
As the situation with the Crystals continued with the appearance of more and more, another festival guest arrived offering gifts. A little old lady gave out small pendants with the mark of a snowflake on them. The lady was kind and sweet. No one felt threatened by her presence and many took these gifts perhaps feeling as though it was part of the festival. This would later turn out to be a falsehood.
Inside the Shrine and Library room of the Salty Stick complex a poisonous smoke filled. Coughing, the guests who had been in that room quickly fled to the main tavern. The smoke confined itself to the shrine and library room. One-by-one the candles that had illuminated that room went out leaving the room dark and smoky. Soon, purple and blue lights appeared providing some illumination. Most of those with tokens from the Hag were drawn to the room and were unaffected by the smoke there.
Arrival of Syconian Soldiers and a Murder
During the second day of the Festival, four armed and armored soldiers of Syconia arrived in the village. They were rude but did not draw weapons on anyone. Captain Varn Delany of the Embassy Guard, the person responsible of village security that day, stopped the small troupe and questioned them. They claimed they were only there to prepare the way for their knight who would be arriving later. They intended no harm and simply wanted to get a drink, sit down and wait. As it was a festival, the soldiers made no attempt at aggression and were heavily outnumbered, Captain Varn granted them guest right until Baron Dagger of East Blackwood returned from checking on a late supply shipment. He Dagger returned, he could decide what to do with the soldiers.
The Syconians did as they said they would and sat down at the gambling table within the tavern. They played chess and sipped at ale as they waited. Not too long after they arrived, one of their number left the tavern for a brief walk and never returned. An Embassy Guard found the body of that Syconian while on patrol. The body was immediately reported to Captain Varn Delany who launched an investigation.
The body of the deceased was searched revealing a letter which detailed orders to kill certain guests at the festival. Two witnesses stepped forward an claimed to have seen Sir Osmund leaving the area where the murder had taken place. The claim was that as he rounded the building he was cleaning his blade which had fresh blood on it. With a prime suspect, the investigation questioned Sir Osmund of Sagara and the Realm of Roses who confessed to killing the Syconian soldier.
It was not long before the three remaining Syconian soldiers began to worry for their missing comrade. Before they could react, the troupe was forcibly detained, disarmed and rendered unconscious. When the soldiers were woken, the investigation questioned them and their true intentions. With the help of Archon Eurestus of the Southern Seal, it was determined that they did not know that their comrade had had such letters and they did not suspect him of having been an assassination. Their story was that their knight, Sir Zardon Kosmakova, was arriving later and they were only there to make way for him. The soldiers were allowed to return to the festival but without weapons by order of Commander Anthem DeVigil of the Embassy Guard.
Lambert, Investigator of the Court of Roses and Thorns continued the investigation determining that the killing of the Syconian soldier was done in cold blood and without resistance from the Syconian. It was also determined that Sir Osmund could not have known about the assassination letter on the Syconian's person and therefor could not have known that the soldier he had killed was likely to have been an assassin. Thus, it was believed that Sir Osmund broke the Barony of East Blackwood's guest right. This, however, could only be decided by the baron of himself upon his return. For the time being, Captain Varn allowed Sir Osmund to also return to the festivities as he deemed him unlikely to flee judgement.
Validarian Motherstream Trade Hub
Djako Kaevh, Master Merchant of the East Blackwood Company, had a meeting with the Kahlifa of the Free Alliance, the Trade master of the Fortress of Diversity, a representative of the South, and Fevael of the Märkische Bund. Together they discussed a future more economic and financially fulfilling use of the Mutterstrom river. All Party's were in Agreement that a combined effort to increase its logistic potential was in everyone's best interest, especially to open up the Feste on the Southern continent and the remains of the Eastern lands to direct trading to the general Mytrasperan trade sphere. No specific agreements were made but the party's involved enthusiastically agreed that a Collaboration would yield good results. The future of the new Validarian Motherstream Trade Hub was drunk to. Negotiations concerning Thorgrimms supply of dwarven smithed armour and Rune strengthened weapons were also had. The concerned party needs time to explain to the majorly important Runefather the value of this transaction. Dwarven worth was attested to Master Djako.

Viscount Gavriil Verontova and Lady Anna-Katharina von Rabenau
The Empire of Sycon, a nation outside of Mythodea, is home to a vast land of various fiefdoms and vassal states. Among these fiefdoms is the Lands of Rabenau which have been ruled by the von Rabenau family for hundreds of years or longer. Fifty years or so ago, the King of Syconia was usurped by his counselor, Bazavier. Bazavier crowned himself Emperor of Sycon and accepted The Gift from the Order of the Holy Blood becoming a version of a vampire only seen in Arkendrose. These "Gifted" are not undead as far as we are aware but take on many of their traits and strengths.
After Syconia became the Empire of Sycon under Bazavier, a new arristocracy began to rise and year after year they began to challenge the hegemony of old. Human noble houses such as von Rabenau were increasingly placed into a position of disadvantage and often conflict. Lord Robert and Lady Maria von Rabenau soon found threat on their northern border in the form of Viscount Gevrill Vorontova.
Lady Anna-Katharina von Rabenau left Syconia over five years ago at the behest of her parents to search for petential support and allies outside of Syconia and Arkendrose. Through the Forest of Voy she traveled with some friends and servants through the Gate to the Realms where she found a potential ally in Ambassador Dagger of Blackwood. Dagger, however, was living in Mythodea. Anna made her way across the great seas and was lucky enough to make it through the Fog and into the lands of Mythodea but soon the Viscount's intentions were made clear. He intended to marry Lady Anna and bring her back to Syconia.
Visions of the Ice Witch
Once most of those who had pendants from the little old lady arrived in the room a life like vision reportedly replaced reality within the room. The details of this event have not been fully reported but there were claims that the Ice Witch Deyanira was present. Most who were part of this collective vision declined to speak anything of it. What was learned, however, was that the snowflake pendants were cursed and needed to be destroyed. Many guests worked tirelessly to do so with the hopes of freeing the cursed from their bonds.
Once the smoke cleared from the room, the normal candles re-lit themselves and the room returned to normal. Most of the pendants were hunted down and destroyed where possible but the exact intention of the Ice Witch is yet unknown. Further investigation and inquiry is needed to determine the true effects of the vision and pendants.
Sir Zardon Of Syconia and Satisfaction
Sometime after nightfall, Sir Zardon Kosmakova arrived with another Syconian soldier. Sir Zardon appeared to not be human, a vampire if he was to be believed. He did, however, claim that he was not undead. When Dagger finally did return to the village, he met with Lady Anna and Sir Osmund to talk about what happened to discuss a diplomatic solution that still maintained the honor of the host; in this case, Baron Dagger, Knight of Blackwood.
The general consensus was that Sir Osmund had broken Guest Right and should be punished harshly. Sir Osmund accepted whatever the decision of Dagger would be before a Sagaran witness. Féwaé Méllinar Vitèz the Master of Coin of the Münzquell approached Baron Dagger asking him to treat with Sir Zardon Kosmakova who had been patiently waiting for him within the Salty Stick Tavern. Baron Dagger sat down with Sir Zardon Kasmakova surrounded by dignitaries and knights including Archon Eurestus of the Southern Seal, Lady Anna-Katharina von Rabenau and Sir Osmund from Sagara.
Dagger agreed that Osmund had broken guest right and offered Sir Zardon Kosmakova the Right to Satisfaction but begged, on behalf of Lady Anna, that it not be to the death. To the Second Blood. At first Sir Osmund was hesitant to accept the duel but with some further discussion Sir Osmund agreed to the challenge as did Sir Zardon Kosmakova. Osmund was given time to prepare and in less than an hour the duel commenced. During a heavy exchange of blows, Sir Osmund yielded to Sir Zardon Kosmakova.
Zardon and his soldiers agreed that they had received Satisfaction. Baron Dagger of East Blackwood promptly revoked their guest right and demanded they leave. The Syconians bowed and left. Sir Osmund's wounds were tended to immediately.
Mythodea / Crusade of the Elements Bleed for Small Victories
23.09.2023
The Crusade of the Elements embarked on its quest for the Elements starting the end of winter this year. Zweiwasser and Gorasia had been in talks months before their final gathering in Drachebrück where East Blackwood, Thoringaard, the Southern Seal and Hohenwacht agreed to support as well. Since then, bloody battle after bloody battle has been fought, supply lines have been established and the field hospitals are full.
Establishing the North
As the Crusade of the Elements began, two fleets of ships said around the southern shores of Kahl'hatra in Mythodea meeting at the mouth of the Mother River before sailing up it to start the liberation. In the North, East Blackwood and the East Blackwood Company, with Thoringaard, established a supply base for the Crusade and Validar on an island at the confluence of river tributaries. These tributaries feed the Mother River whose waters merge into the wide flow that exits into the sea between Mythodea and the Southern Continent. This supply base has been aptly named, Fort Confluence.

A nearby Märkischer Bund Supply Camp as well as support from the Münzquell directly up river supplement Fort Confluence. The fort's defenses are continuously improving under the leadership of Master Djako Kaevh of the East Blackwood Company, and Captain Varn Delany of the Embassy Guard. By diplomatic agreement with the Realm of Roses, after the conclusion of the Crusade in Kahl'Hatra, the fort, and likely the small island, will be handed over to the Realm of Roses.

Meanwhile,
Lord Sir Dagger of East Blackwood and Commander Anthem De'vigil, with
the support of Tawar of the Thoringaard, maintain overall command of
northern operations. To that effect, a military expedition was launched
comprised of three unites of Embassy Guard and Mercenaries with one unit
of Thoringaard to a village held by the Black Dynasty. The Crusaders
were able to isolate a Black Dynasty unit at a river crossing destroying
it while minimizing losses before moving up hill to a once abandoned
Razash'Dai village.
Two units of Black Dynasty held the village. This gave the Crusaders an almost two to one advantage in numbers but the fight was uphill and the Black Ice knew the Settlers were coming. The flight was bloodier than expected. Two of the four Crusader unites were heavily damaged including several losses but by the end of the day, the village belonged to the Elements once again.
Camp C at the Hill of Firs
Far
enough north, the Hill of Firs, as the soldiers called it, was the only
forward camp established that had unites from the majority of the major
parties involved in the Crusade of the Elements. The initial garrison
was a little over fifty men and women, most of them combatants. Early on
scouts learned that there were Black Ice patrols in the region. As each
scouting mission went out it seemed as though the Black Dynasty patrols
were getting closer to Camp C at the Hill of Firs. In an effort to hide
the location of Camp C from a potentially superior-enemy-fighting
force, some of the Black Ice scouting parties were destroyed.
Slowly, however, Camp C was encircled after the defeat one of the counter scout parties. Distress messages were sent to up and down river asking for help at first and then begging for it as casualties mounted. Eventually, uncertain if reinforcements would arrive on time, the remaining leadership at Camp C, Embassy Guard Captains Varn Delany and Lordas Palatinus ordered a breakout mission. The breakout attempt was stopped on a pass through the dying forest of Firs by two units of Black Ice. The arrival of Kaela the Storm of the Feste, the Feste der Vielfalt, the Southern Seal and others from the North, West and beyond arrived a Camp C in time to save the struggling garrison remnant. The rescue mission was a success but the added to the casualty count.
A Skargen warband was also in the region escorting a treasonous Ice Witch. The Ice Witch had made a pact with the Black Ice and was using its power for personal gain. She appeared to have a strong hatred for everything Ignis and worked to find something called the Flower of the Moring which she later acquired. The Crusaders and Settlers were not able to prevent the Ice Witch from acquiring the Flower of the Morning but they were able to stop the Black Dynasty from further destroying the land.
After two-day long struggle between the Crusaders, Settlers and the Black Dynasty control of the lines of power were in the hands of the Elements and the land could begin to heal. After, further reinforcements arrived from Lords Dagger and Varek, the emergency aid returned to other campaigns and the South to Benedikt's landing leaving the Duchy of Validar to regarrison Camp C and continue its fortification. The location appears to be a hub for energy within the region and thus should be protected.
The Beachhead

A few days south of Camp C at the Hill of Firs, Zweiwasser and Gorasia fought a bloody and long battle to secure a beachhead. Under the combined command of Lord Varek and Lord Tarin, with guidance from Sir Balor, victory was claimed. The brutality of conflicts at the Beachhead was second to only that of Camp C. Victory may have been earned but at great costs. These wounds will take time to heal. Many souls were lost in the heavy fighting. Many of the injured had to be sent to the Märkischer Bund field hospital across the Mother River due to the field hospitals within that region of Kahl'hatra being overcapacity. In spite of the high casualty count, Lord Varek managed to muster a unit of Drachengarde and head north to Camp C to help with its reinforcement.
Benedikt's Landing
The first force of the Crusade of the Elements to land in strength within Kahl'Hatra, was Hohenwacht led by Ser Benedikt. Ser Benedikt established a forward camp while East Blackwood established the supply base just north of Kahl'Hatra. The region would later be reinforced by the Southern Seal led by Archon Erestus of the South.
The State of the War
At present, the initial hard fought victories have gained a foothold within eastern Kahl'hatra. Fort Confluence is firmly established and being supported by the Münzquell and Märkischer Bund. East Blackwood is currently restoring the abandoned Razash'Dai village in the north for use as a forward supply base. Camp C is once again garrisoned while both the Beachhead and Benedikt's Landing are being turned into permanent camps. The focus is currently on securing the areas currently held by the Crusade.

As they have been successful in assisting the various peoples of this land, lands and properties have been granted to the Embassy and its representatives. These lands also have to be defended and certain expectations are to be upheld as citizens and landowners. The various nations of Mondus are often in a state of conflict over disputes of land, ideology and pride. During the summer months those conflicts tend to break out into large maneuvers. During this time both military assistance and assistance in hunting various beasts is often requested of the Realms Embassy by its friends and allies. The Realms Embassy has fielded with the Empire for years now and through them this summer, so did East Blackwood.
East Blackwood Joins the Realms Embassy

After
receiving a letter from Sir Sean O'Quinnlin, the Guild Master of the
Realms Embassy, Lord Dagger of East Blackwood left command of the North
East theater of war in Kahl'Hatra in his squire's command while he
voyaged to Mondus/Bicolline to support the Realms Embassy. Since the
founding of the East Blackwood, and Realms, Embassy in Mythodea, Sir
Sean has sent resources and support over the great seas. Now, Sir Sean
wanted more than rooms in buildings. The firs step was reported to be
direct support in the Empire's Wars within Mondus.
Lord Dagger, a Knight of Blackwood, Lord of East Blackwood and Leader of the East Blackwood Company journeyed west through the Fog, first to the Realms where Mayor SLIM of CrestGrath and a contingent of CrestGrath watch joined them. After, the company left the Tournament of Queen of Hearts in Rhiassa for Mondus/Bicolline. Once there, East Blackwood met up with the Realms Embassy at Kintzheim where they prepared for war.
Supporting the Empire at Castel de Lormes
Mondus was plagued by a peasant's revolt. The peasant armies were supported by many noble houses using the revolt for their own nefarious gain. The Realms Embassy stood firmly behind its allies, however, fighting alongside Ragnarok and the Empire who supported the nobility under the banner of the Riding of the Crowned. This placed East Blackwood in the same position as part of the Embassy line in direct support of Ragnarok.
The first conflict took place at the Castel de Lormes. This battle was a proving ground of how well East Blackwood could work with the Realms Embassy and Ragnarok. Combined, the Realms Embassy and Ragnarok took up the center. They formed an impenetrable, yet inflexible, wall. The center held throughout the day but the right flank continued to break causing the Crowned lines to collapse each time the Riding of the Crowned held Castel de Lormes. This resulted in an eventual peasant victory at the Castel.
The Ride Visits Foinville
Tending to their wounds, the Ride of the Crowned advanced toward Foinville. There, on the High Road, the forces of the Peasant's Union and the Ride of the Crowned clashed. The start of the battle saw Union forces block the Ride's advance on the High Road while another contingent of Union soldiers flanked the Ride's column from the side. This maneuver stopped the Ride's advance and pushed it back at first.
The Riding of the Crown's forces regrouped and pushed the Union back to a partial clearing where the main fighting took place. There the Ragnarok/Realms Embassy line held firm. A successful flanking maneuver led by SLIM of East Blackwood cleared out the forest to the right of the Riding of the Crown's lines but was not enough to secure an overall victory.
Grand Battle
A few days later, the forces of the
Peasant's Union and those of the Crown met in a massive clash. The two
armies first met on an open field where both sides were clearly
visible. It was more than apparent then to any onlooker that the
Peasant's Union was not only made up of peasant soldiers but also of
noble houses and well financed soldiers such as those from the Wine
Maker's Guild. The Peasant's Union was also not without its fair share
of siege engines which fired on the Riding of the Crowned's forces
repeatedly.

Reinforcements arrived from the Empire for the Riding of the Crowned nearly evening out the numbers between the Union and the Crowned for the first time since the start of the campaign. This, however, was not enough to stop the right flank of the Crowned from breaking again and again as had been the story throughout the conflict thus far. This led to a change in strategy where the Riding of the Crowned's army was split in two. Part of it remained on the field while the larger portion maneuvered behind enemy lines deep within the nearby forest. While the battles and damage done within the forest was highly successful on behalf of those supporting the Nobility, it was not enough to claim victory on the day. The Peasant's Union banners waved victoriously in the heavy rain while the Crowned withdrew from the field.

Mythodea / Campaign Beyond Ice
10.09.2023
This year during the height of the campaign season, the armies of Mythodea marched south to confront King Garvan and his Undead Flesh armies. King Garvan had found a strange artifact that served as a gateway to the deep South. The settler's quickly learned that the machine could create a portal to a location deeper in the Southern Continent. The Mythodean settler's learned of this fought to procure the machine.
The Construct, Der Koloss
The construct, Der Koloss, an
artifact of great power, was reported to have been drawing magic power
and Elemental energy from Mythodea, making the land sick. Both King
Garven and the Mythodean Settlers struggled to claim this machine. Once
in the hands of the Settlers, the Armies of Mythodea reportedly called
on the Elements using their power to shut down the machine to stop it
from draining Mythodea further and to allow Mythodea to heal. A
rumored added effect of shutting down the machine was that it also ended
the "Fog" which has for so long surrounded and protected Mythodea from
the outside lands and worlds. This seems to have been justified as a
means to thwart Garven's plans.
As of now this story is still developing. We at "The Ambassador" will continue to correct the story as more information becomes available.

The Black Dynasty and other Rumors
The
Black Ice or now the Black Dynasty (Ice with Emotions), as the are now
known, claim that as long as the Settlers of Mythodea attack them, they
will
only defend themselves. They currently claim to want a truce and rough
peace. How this will affect the situation in Kahl'Hatra with the
Crusade of the Elements remains to be seen.
Void is rumored to be back´ to have returned to Mythodea.
Of the Pestilence there is a new species that needs to find its place. They are reportedly peaceful until you attack them.

Knighting of Bodvar Tock
At the Summer Campaign R.C.Y 1023, Kaela, the Storm of the Fortress, Knighted Bødvar Tock as a Knight of the Storm. The knighting came after years of support, diplomacy and friendship. Bødvar was assigned to the Fortress of Diversity as an Emissary of Blackwood a few years prior and since then he has befriended a great many of the Feste. He has fought with them and bled beside them. Know, he is a knight of their order.
A Call for Ignis Folk
A large gathering of Ignis followers performed a ritual at the end of the Summer Campaign where they sent a powerful message into the Spheres, calling for a new elemental tribe of Ignis. The ritual appeared to be successful but the results are yet still unknown.
Saving of Adam von Winterfeld
A year ago, the tall, broad and
hansom, Baron Adam von Winterfeld, a Lord Protector of the Northern
Seal, was lost to the Dragonfly Queen. Reports claims that he had
thought that he could learn important information that would help combat
the Dragonfly Queen and Black Ice if he went to them. This idea was
reportedly not popular among the Northern Seal's citizens and rulers.
Adam was corrupted by the Dragonfly Queen when he made the attempt but
signs of his true self still shown through on rare occasion.
During
the Convent of the Elements, Adam von Winterfeld arrived stoic and
stern in Bad Holzbrück. The corrupted Adam was stopped at the gate of
the Validar camp and surrounded by settlers who questioned him. What
Adam replied at first was in his Black Ice-stoic manor. He stated that
he wanted to visit the funeral of a... friend, but that the Northern
Seal would not allow him near. This led to further and deeper
questioning by those who knew him well causing a true and tortured Adam
to come out for a moment. He cried for help and in regret of what he
had done but soon after the corruption of the Essence took over once
more.
During the Summer Campaign this past summer, the bond/connection between Adam von Winterfeld and the Dragonfly Queen was severed harshly. Adam is once again himself but a shattered self like broken glass. He reportedly needs to be assisted and healed further as well as be cleansed with Aqua, drop-by-drop. Lady Anna Katharina von Rabenau has been ordered to be close to Adam to provide mental and emotional support.
Mythodea / Crusade of the Elements, Camp C
11.07.2023
Calls for aid were sent from within East Kahl'Hatra to allies and armies of Mythodea near enough by to answer the call. One of the war camps of the Crusade of the Elements within Kahl'Hatra was in trouble. The Fortress of Diversity, led by the Storm of the Fortress Kaela herself, was the largest among those who rapidly deployed to aid. The Archon of the South along with a personal guard unit, champions from the Northern Seal, a Representative from the Western Seal and many more formed a band together with the Feste of over 60 warriors, mages and support personnel force marched to Camp C at the Hill of Firs to relieve the Validar forces there.

Campaign Overview
Starting before the Spring Campaign of this year, the Crusade of the Elements led by Gorasia, Hohewacht, Zweiwasser, East Blackwood and the Southern Seal sent scouts into Kahl'Hatra. Several war meetings took place between this past winter and the start of the campaign. East Blackwood established a supply base somewhere North East of East Kahl'Hatra while the forces of Gorasia/Zweiwasser and Hohewacht invaded from the South up the Mother Stream River establishing bridgeheads and war camps along the way. Supply lines were established from the North through the Realm of Roses and Münzquell and in the East through the Märkischer Bund.
Fighting was at first light throughout East Kahl'Hatra but as the crusaders pushed further into the region resistance increased with regular clashes between the forces of the Black Dynasty and the Crusade of the Elements. In the South where the main force of the Crusade was present fighting was heaviest. In the North fighting was non-existent until the end of the first month of the campaign. In the center, Camp C was established by the Validar groups Zweiwasser, Gorasia and East Blackwood under Zweiwasser's Lieutenant Gorn Erkenbrandt.
Camp C at the Hill of Firs
A war camp was established on a Hill the crusade scouts had named the Hill of Firs. When they arrived the Fir Trees present were still alive. This changed quickly over the month that they were present there. Still, the camp's location provided several natural defenses allowing the initial 52 defenders a stable base of operation while they continued scouting operations to acquire new military and Element objectives in the region. The Camp was comprised of a Validar collective mainly consisting of East Blackwood and Zweiwasser with a few Gorasian soldiers to supplement the fighting ranks. Camp C was the designation of the war camp and it was lead by Zweiwasser's Lieutenant Gorn Erkenbrandt and the officers under him were Captains Varn and Lordas from the Embassy Guard of East Blackwood. The Camp's Quarter Master was Adis Moor from the East Blackwood Company and its cook was Makø Tock from the same.

Near the third week, Camp C encountered increasingly large formations of Black Ice soldiers made their way closer to the Crusaders. As reports later confirmed, fighting began in earnest shortly after forcing Camp C to go on the defensive and call for aid. Before aid could arrive however, the camp was nearly overrun with near 40% of all defenders being put to the sword. At some point during these days of heavy fighting, Lady Molly of Zweiwasser arrived escorted by a few companions from Zweiwasser to help supplement the defenses and to provide extra aid in the field hospital. This small boon would prove to not be enough as the continued fighting forced a difficult decision on the shoulders of Lady Molly, Captain Varn and Captain Lordas. Do they stay and attempt to defend until reinforcements can arrive or do we try to break out. The latter was chosen.
Reinforcements!
With heavy
fighting further South and North, Barons Tarin, Dagger and Varek could
not send aid quick enough to Camp C. The request for emergency
reinforcements was instead forwarded to potential allies in who were
close enough to perhaps assist. Near 60 brave settlers answered the
call and rushed to the aid of Camp C at the Hill of Firs. When they
arrived they found the camp empty. In the field hospital blood was
still fresh suggesting that the remaining defenders either fled, moved
out or had been captured by the Forsaken.
Meanwhile, the survivors of Camp C, led by Captain Lordas of the Embassy Guard, were in a fight for their lives against the superior numbers of the Black Ice. The Validar soldiers attempted to find their way around the Black Ice instead of going through them but were cut off.
Unable to retreat safely from the engagement, Captain Lordas ordered a slow withdrawal. The shield wall was held as the survivors pulled back but haste was not an option. Had the reinforcements from the Feste, South and other parts of Mythodea not arrived, most of the Validar force would have died. Indeed one did die shortly after, Alphonsus Orlandeau.
The
recovery of the survivors was spearheaded by the Storm of the Feste,
Kaela herself. Near two late, one of the Embassy Guard soldiers of East
Blackwood had already fallen in combat and the majority of those
remaining were injured, some severely. The rescue effort commenced
rapidly though the location of it proved difficult. The Validar
survivors had reached a crossroads during their withdrawal which opened
up the terrain for the Black Ice to use it better against the Settlers.
The ensuing battle was quick and bloody. The combined Validar and
Settler force executed a fighting withdrawal back to Camp C where the
injured and dying were scattered about the grounds to be cared for.
As the battle against the Black Dynasty waned, a small band of Skargen attacked from the rear, having broken through the thick brush and trees that lightly defended the rear of the camp. This added to the chaos of battle as the settlers had to shift their force to defend from two sides and protect their healers and injured. During the confusion, Alphonsus "Al" Orlandeau EmbassyGuard of East Blackwood died of his injuries in the hands of a healer.
Alphonsus Orlandeau, Al for short, was an archer of the Embassy Guard in service to East Blackwood and Lord Sir Dagger of East Blackwood. Alphonsus leaves behind his beloved wife named Margaret and a daughter named Rose as well as his comrades in the Embassy Guard.
State of Camp C
Camp C was
established some three weeks prior to the arrival of the
reinforcements. During that time regular patrols and scouting missions
took place as the forest began to die around the area. By the end of
the three weeks large patches of forest and undergrowth were no more
which helped to reveal the shrine at the entrance to Camp C. Once
revealed a patrol cut the brush away uncovering what was hidden there
but there had been no time to investigate it as this was reportedly when
the Black Ice began to attack the location.
During the fighting that ensued, 40% of the camp was killed off including the camp's commander, Lieutenant Gorn Erkenbrand of Zweiwasser and the Quarter Master Adis Moor. Even the healers had to be replaced by Lady Molly who arrived with a small personal guard at the onset of the heavy fighting to take over the field hospital. Lieutenant Erkenbrand sent urgent requests for reinforcement and resupply and recorded the events of each day in his Command Log. When the Black Dynasty began to push into the Camp C, Erkenbrand donned his armor and fought to defend the garrison but fell in the fighting. This left Captains Varn Delany and Lordas Palatinus of East Blackwood's Embassy Guard in charge of the remainder of the fighting force of Validar there. With all else failing, Captain Varn ordered those remaining to perform a break-out action in an attempt to make it to the river. Captain Varn placed Captain Lordas in charge of the line as they moved to attempt this mission but it ended in near disaster if it had not been for the arrival of reinforcements.
Ice Witch
If the situation was not grim enough as it was, the Skargen war-band that was present in the area appeared to be protecting a powerful witch and her apprentice. The witch claimed be trying to acquire something called the Flower of Dawn. Narech'Tulock scouts in the region had been attempting to acquire that same plant and declared it to be of the up most importance though they could not fully explain why.
What was clear was that this human witch wearing the mark of the Blace Ice wanted it desperately and was willing to fight and torture for it. With her skilled band of Skargen and with her apprentice, the Ice Witch was formidable in her own right often either supplementing the Black Dynasty or attacking scouting parties and leaving them devastated and corrupted within the forest.
Shrines, Crystals, Witches and, Magic Flowers
As the chaos was controlled and the fighting died down after the arrival of reinforcements, the knowledge seekers, mages and scouts got to work and learning what they could of the situation at hand. The ruin or shrine just beyond the front gate of Camp C was investigated and found to have a stone plate in it with the markings of the Black Ice and four other empty indents where plates could appear. The purpose of the ruin was not immediately discovered though theories emerged over the next several hours. The running theory was that it had something to do with Lay-lines but this was not confirmed. What was known, however, is that the location was recently discovered within the last week.
During scouting missions to determine the meaning of the first Black Ice plate, and for general information collection, a crystal surrounded by black moss was found in the forest. The crystal was determined to be Black Ice in nature and as such a detriment to the land. The theory was that the Black Ice plate in the shrine may have represented the crystal or whatever the crystal was doing to the land while the other empty slots suggested that there were more yet unclaimed locations in the forest. While many questions turned to theories, nothing was proven for a time which served to fuel discord within the camp's divided leadership.
In the early morning of the second day after the arrival of emergency aid, scouting missions and large patrols took place to collect more information. Consistent skirmishes took place whenever Vallidar and the Settler Force attempted to move out from their camp. The Black Ice and Ice Witch appeared to be working hard to find various points in the land to erect their crystals. Indeed by midday two of the five spaces for stone plates on the shrine were filled with Black Ice symbols while the Elements had none.
Luckily for the Crusaders and Settlers, the Narech'Tulock uncovered a skull, scorpion necklace and book covered in underbrush just behind the shrine. The content of the book was written by a Razash'Dai who had died sometime ago and it helped to prove many of the ongoing theories of the knowledge seekers and mages. Red moss called Blood Moss grew where the power lines were damaged and turned black when corrupted by the Black Ice.
Field Leadership Decided after Command Discussion
To remedy
the failing situation, bring order to Camp C and, to restore moral, a
meeting in the command tent was held were all leaders gathered to
discuss how to proceed. During the meeting, clear objectives and plans
were discussed including tactics and strategies of how to move forward.
Most importantly, a clear leadership structure for the whole camp was
established with the Storm of the Feste, Kaela with overall army command, Captain Varn Delany of the Embassy Guard was placed in command of the skirmishers, Commander Anthem De'vigil of the Embassy Guard was to command the archers, Lady Molly of Zweiwasser was to organize the Healers and Corporal Bødvar Tock as Quarter Master.
Around this time, it was reported that a Validar messenger arrived with positive news. To the North and South of Camp C, victories had been won freeing up further forces to reinforce the Hill of Firs. Barons Sir Dagger of East Blackwood and Sir Varek of Zweiwasser would be there earliest late that evening to relieve those who had been able to answer the call for aid sooner.
Heavy Fighting Continued
After midday and the command meeting, the camp defenders departed to stop the Ice Witch and Black Ice from succeeding in their missions. The Crusaders and Settler force marched out of Camp C at the Hill of Firs up old roads that were still partly intact in the region toward areas where Blood Moss had been earlier reported. Still unsure if it was possible to break the small Black Ice crystals, the focus was on the yet not corrupted points were Blood Moss grew. The nearest known point was relatively close to Camp C but to reach it with a large unit of soldiers, mages and knowledge seekers, one had to travel a long road around the forest due to the difficulty and instability of terrain near the camp.
Once at the Blood Moss, both the Märkischer Bund was visible in the far distance due to the clear sky and a field before the heavy slop of the hills went down to the river. There was the forth area where Blood Moss grew. The Army formed a ring of defense around the Blood Moss location while the Skirmishers and Archers took up positions to allow for ease of response and warning. While the Mages and Knowledge Seekers worked to to repair the line of power there the Black Dynasty was sighted cresting the hill behind the open field.
The majority of the military present moved with Kaela to stop the Black Ice from corrupting the Blood Moss point in the field while the Mages and Knowledge Seekers finished their work at the other Blood Moss point. There upon the opening of the field, fighting began starting with duels and erupting into a full on pitched battle. The Storm of the Feste, Kaela, called for the rest of the Settler's forces to join the forward force and help them take the field and repair the line of power beneath the Blood Moss. This lead to a large flanking maneuver that allowed the Mages and Knowledge Seekers to begin a ritual to cleanse and repair the location.
Waffenmeister
of Ignis, Sylvana Katharina von Lichtensteyn
and other related Ignis
affine performed a ritual calling the blood of battle to fuel the
repairs of the line of power and its cleansing. As the battle raged on,
the Ignis affine carried out their ritual pumping more and more power
and rage of war into it. The ritual was a success long before the
fighting stopped as the Black Ice kept coming and soon were supplemented
by the Skargen War-band. as well.
Worn ragged, the Settlers refused to give the field to the enemy until they rid themselves of them. The heavy warriors of the Black Ice and their archers proved to be the biggest issues that faced the settler force.
The
Skargen as well proved to be formidable foes and were reportedly rather
too stubborn to die quickly. Finally, with countless injuries and heat
exhaustion, the order was given to withdraw from the field after the
Black Ice and Skargen advances slowly dwindled to nothing.
The
battle at the field had left the Settler and Crusader force tired and
hurt yet they still had many potential objectives remaining. They knew
about where the Flower of Dawn was and one of the Black Ice Crystals and
both could be found on their return trip.
As the tired Settlers and Crusaders made their way back up the road toward Camp C they were presented with two choices. The first choice was to turn left up a broken road to the Flower of Dawn or to turn right toward the camp and try to break the Black Ice Crystal there on the way and cleanse the location. The later was chosen against protests from Deirdre the Gardener of Terra and the Narech'Tuloch. The weakened fighting force took up defensive positions around the location of the second Black Ice Crystal while Tovak instructed the knowledge seekers on the proper use and method using sacred runes to break Black Ice Crystals. While the party was successful at breaking the crystal, the Black Dynasty attacked once again.
Kaela called for a tactical withdrawal. Due to the exhaustion and wounds collected by the those present, the retreat was slow and laborious causing more to be injured in the fighting as they made their way back to the camp. Once at the crossroads just up the hill from Camp C's entrance, the Archon of the South was captured by the Ice Witch. Kaela ordered desperately several pushes to attempt to retrieve the Archon but each consecutive charge was repelled.
After each attempt, Kaela's force weakened while the Black Ice received reinforcements. Eventually it became all to clear that the Archon was going to be lost and even then Kaela ordered another push or two reportedly. After all attempts failed, the Crusader and Settler force withdrew fully into Camp C to recover.
Regrouping
The
wounds received from that
day were many and the soldiers of Camp C as well as the reinforcements
were in desperate need of rest. While the camp licked their wounds and
ate, the leaders and knowledge seekers "discussed" the next steps and
how, if at all, to move forward. It was known that Barons Dagger and
Varek would be arriving later that night with more reinforcement and
supply but it was not clear if the defenders could hold out that long,
stop the Ice Witch and the Black Ice or even if it was necessary to do
so.
The Knowledge Seekers worked on potential solutions with
the information they had. At the shrine the had succeeded in having
two of the five empty slots replaced with symbols of the Elements while
removing one of the Black Ice plates; however, the removed Black Ice
plate soon after reappeared leaving only one empty plate slot. The
decision was then made by Kaela's Knowledge Seekers to recover the
closest Black Ice Crystal to the Camp. Volunteers gathered near the
shrine, amounting the majority of the still able fighting force as they
prepared to march.
The Crystal, the Flower and the Terra Ritual
As
the day light waned, Mages and Knowledge Seekers began to readied a
ritual to cleanse the site of the shrine in the name of Terra. As
preparations were underway, Kaela led most of the able Soldiers and
other Mages and Knowledge Seekers to the first of the Blood Moss points
which they knew had been corrupted by the Black Dynasty. The goal was to
destroy the Crystal there and repair the line of power in the name of
Aqua.
While the force under Kaela's immediate command was working on the Crystal, the Shrine at the front of Camp C came under attack. Once the Storm of the Feste caught wind of this, she removed herself and the majority of her soldiers to defend the camp, shrine and ritual makers leaving a few Warriors, the Mages and, the Knowledge Seekers to finish their work.
The work at the Crystal and Blood Moss point concluded while fighting was still heavy at Camp C. Those who were at the Crystal rushed to join the fight at the Shrine. As they went, however, a Narech'Tuloch met them on the path demanding that people come with him to the Flower of Dawn. Many ignored him but a few followed including Deirdre the Gardener of Terra.
The small group marched through the dying forest until finally they could what sounded like a ritual and could see three Skargen Warriors barring their path. None of those present where heavily armored. In fact, only Gerhardt of the Embassy Guard was armored at all. They had one Narech'Tuloch with them, while strong, may not have been able to even the balance of fighting power. The rest were mages and healers who's magic was all but exhausted. Worse yet, they had reportedly no way of knowing in that moment if more Skargen lay in wait within the forest behind those they could see.
The mages pooled all the magic they had into one artifact and blasted their way through with wind and fire. During the fighting Kaela arrived with her soldiers. All was for not as by the time the rest reached the site of the Flower, it was gone. The ritual of the Ice Witch had been a success.
Relief and the Last Blood Moss
Barons Sir
Varek of Zweiwasser and Sir Dagger of East Blackwood arrived with Tawar
Roknar, the Leader of the Thoringaard, soldiers, mercenaries and allies
such as the Blutpackt as part of the coming reinforcements for the
region. Almost as soon as they arrived, Knowledge Seekers and Mages
approached the barons informing them that they wanted to return to the
forest to attempt to free the last Blood Moss point of Black Ice
corruption and repair the line of power there.
They requested that a baron go with them and bring some of their fresh soldiers now that they were newly arrived. Lord Varek when to speak with Kaela and the other camp leaders such as the Archon of the South while Lord Dagger agreed to go with the rest back into the forest.
With Dagger's reinforcements, a group comprised of a mix of Settlers and Validar made their way to the last remaining Black Ice Crystal. First, the group in the forest shattered the crystal then proceeded to perform Aeris related tasks such as dice, tag and foot races. This event went on in jubilant fashion for some time before the line of power was fully restored.
The Aftermath
As the day light came to an end, further analysis of the shrine at the foot of Camp C. The mage who performed it determined that the shrine was fully functional. Further analysis suggested that the land in the region could now begin to heal.
The battle had been won but the war was farm from over. Up until this point only a few outposts and their surrounding lands had been secured within East Kahl'Hatra and many had bled and died. While some celebrated life, as many mourned the fallen. Tandal led a ceremony to honor those who had died in the fighting thus far, most recently Alphonsus "Al" Orlandeau.
The Realms / Knighting of Dame Sayeh
01.07.2023
The Knights of Blackwood is a knightly order in service and protection of the Kingdom of Blackwood and its attending lands. The knightly order was established over three decades ago and has continued to gain in strength over the years. The Knights typically go through a long squireship before earning their knightly belt and title. Lady Sayeh was no exception to this as she has been a squire first under Sir Magnus Heavyhammer of Folkstone and then Sir Pillipus the Steward of Erowan. Lady Sayeh was knighted, Dame Sayeh this summer in Voranis. Her knighting was accompanied by a letter from the Knight Commander of the Knights of Blackwood, Lord Sir Mathies the Lord of Verglaz. You can read the contents of the letter below.

Unto
Sir Dagger and the peoples of East Blackwood,
Let it be known that at tonight's gathering in the lands of Vorannis,
during court, the Knights of Blackwood added to our ranks.
Please join me in celebrating Lady Sayeh who from this day forth shall
add to her titles the title of Dame Sayeh Knight of Blackwood.
Sincerely,
Lord Sir Mathies
Lord of Verglaz
Knight Commander of the Knights of Blackwood
Knight of the Eternal Flame

Mythodea / Convent and Conflict
18.06.2023
Every year at the town of Bad Holzbrück a gathering is held known as the Convent of the Elements. At the Convent, there is an arena where gladiatorial games are hosted as well as other festivities and the Pumpfball Championships. Also during the Convent are a verity of trade meetings and the meeting of the Ruler's Council to plan the summer campaign against the Forsaken. This year the Convent played host to drama, intrigue and conflicts galore. Within the Crusade of the Elements Validar formed naming three barons and a duchess to lead them. At the same time, there was a strong tension in the air that the available city watch had no hope of containing.
Coronation of the Barons of Validar
At the start of this year's Convent of the Elements, Sir Balor the Red, Morningstaar of the Crusade of the Elements, spread the word that a gathering would take place within the Validar Crusader camp. The reason, to ordain and crown the first three barons of Validar. Validar, a people without land, fight the Crusade of the Elements with the feudal leaders, allies and supporters at their front. On the Convent, their leaders were made Barons.

The ceremony started at the the Elements Shrine in the Validar camp where Sir Balor led the proceeding in a dedication and prayer. An Edalphi, Larell-Gaheris then blessed sacred oil. With the blessing complete, Sir Balor read the oath of the Barons and asked if Sir Dagger of Blackwood swore to it. He did and the sacred oil was applied to his forehead. Sir Balor then crowned Sir Dagger, Lord Dagger, Baron of the people of East Blackwood. Sir Varek, the former Baron of Zweiwasser, swore the same oath, received the same blessing and was crowned Baron of the people of Zweiwasser. Tarin of Gorasia followed and was crowned Lord Tarin, Baron of the people of Gorasia.
Although many congratulated the new barons, many others questioned the act and its validity or necessity. Some were even angered by the act as it suggested that the crusaders had already claimed the lands currently known as Kahl'hatra for themselves...
Assassination Attempt Fallout!

A mother prior, on the final day of the spring campaign to West Kahl'Hatra, a despicable individual made an attempt on the life of Lord Protector Darius of the Northern Seal, General of the Northern Armies. At first, East Blackwood was rumored to have been involved in the act. Investigations were launched to discover the true culprit of the heinous act. Over the course of the Convent of the Elements, before the truth of events were discerned, the Northern Seal showed a strong military presence around East Blackwood and reportedly gave them little warnings and points of advice on small bits of paper. The eyes of the North were on East Blackwood until a resolution could be found.
Western Seal

Upon
the crowning of the Crusader Barons of Validar, the Archon and Nyame of
the Western Seal approached Sir Balor and the Barons. A heated
discussion followed about the acts and intent of Validar in Kahl'hatra.
Historically speaking, Much of Kahl'hatra had been land previously
belonging to the Western Seal and the intent of possibly settle there
spurned the rulers of the West. His excellency Archon Collin was
particularly angry. However, with the assistance of the Nyame his anger
was calmed as was calmed as was that of others present at the meeting.
The Archon and Nyame of the West later agreed to meditate on the land
to learn of the true extent of their existing reach within Kahl'hatra.
The intimidate fall out of the conflict was felt throughout the Conflict. Validar reached diplomatic obstacles everywhere until a solution could be agreed upon. Even the East Blackwood Company, charged with supplying the Crusade of the Elements, was blocked out of some trade deals and existing agreements during that time. Lord Dagger of East Blackwood was seen taking down the Mitrasperanische Hanse banner in the Validar camp and removing his Hanse favor as well. Luckily for Validar and the East Blackwood Company a solution and agreement would later be struck.
Feste not Pleased

At the Convent of the Elements, Kaela, Storm of the Feste, Commander of the Fortress of Diversity, was invited to attend the ceremony. During the ceremony and at its conclusion, Kaela was reported to have been displeased. The Feste had been asked to support the Crusade of the Elements and yet often felt as though they remained not fully informed about the strategy and intent of the war. This matter would be addressed the following day of the Convent. When a delegation of the three Crusader Barons went to the Feste Camp to speak with Kaela and her Banner Leaders.
The Ruler's Council and the Naldar
Lord Dagger of East
Blackwood was presented before the Ruler's Council as the Validar
representative during the Convent of the Elements. Sir Benedikt von
Hohenwacht also spoke for Validar during the meeting. The Council was
hosted by the Northern Seal in their Command Pavilion. The gathered
rulers and dignitaries from the Realms of Mythodea were present in
mass. Validar and the Crusade were one of the first subjects to be
discussed at the meeting. Lord Sir Dagger and Sir Benedikt presented
what the Crusade and Validar were and what the intent was. Questions
were then asked about the quest and answered. One of the most notable
questions and or conflicts that arose from the meeting was that of the
Naldar.
The Naldar felt as though possibly the Crusade was encroaching on their old homeland. This sentiment was louder heard from other critics of Validar at the Convent than from the Naldar themselves but it did present a question the Crusade of the Elements had to answer if they were to appease the Rulers and make good on their claimed intent. On the final night of the Convent, a meeting with the Naldar and Validar transpired. More on that later.
Western Seal and Validar Come to Terms
Throughout the next day, further talks between Validar and the Western Seal took place. The Nyame reportedly mediated on the land deeply feeling for the limits of the Western Seal finding that it ended somewhere in the mountains in the center of Kahl'hatra. In fact, Archon Colin of the Western Seal had not felt the Archon of the South when he stepped foot in East Kahl'hatra; So much was confirmed by the Archon of the South himself before the Ruler's Council. The new information allowed for a diplomatic resolution between the Crusaders and the Western Seal. The West and the Crusaders will be able to work together in the future toward a common goal. The resulting change in diplomatic positions allowed for the Mitrasperanische Hanse banner to fly once again from the Validar camp.
Northern Trade Embargo Lifted
Lady Anna-Katharina von Rabenau spent much of the first two days of the Convent working on relations with the Northern Seal in an attempt to mitigate further escalation of conflict. This culminated in a meeting between Lord Sir Dagger of East Blackwood and Lord Protector Darius of the Waldtemplar and the Northern Seal. The three sat down together to discuss the events leading up to the assassination attempt, who was responsible and what words and threats had been spoken and by whom over the course of the past year. The details of the conversation are not known but the results are. Lord Protector Darius proclaimed the Trade Embargo lifted and active conflict ended. If this current state of affairs will stay this way remains to be seen.
Meeting with the Fortress of Diversity "Feste der Vielfalt"
On the second day of the Convent of the Elements, all three Crusader Barons visited the Fortress of Diversity camp at the 11th hour. As the meeting began the Crusader Barons introduced themselves to the leaders gathered in the Feste command pavilion and likewise the leaders of the Feste Banners introduced themselves. The main question that had been in the air of the Convent was, "why crown barons when land is not held?" The answer given was that the people needed strong leadership and so did the crusade itself. The Crusader Barons would work to lead their people and provide allies and supporters of the Crusade with clear representatives moving forward. As each of the three Validar Baronies are feudal in culture and philosophy, the title of Baron seemed appropriate although not all agree.
With that matter at least discussed, the meeting
turned toward practical military matters. The primary topic in that
concern as one of logistics and supply. Would the soldiers of the
Fortress be guaranteed food, rations and supplies and how would the
supply lines be maintained? The Crusaders promised ample supplies would
be acquired and were being acquired for the mission. The logistics
were also discussed but due to operational security we at "The
Ambassador" have been asked not to print those details.
To conclude the meeting, Kaela announced that the Banner Leaders would be breaking to discuss internally how to move forward with assisting the Crusade. Lord Sir Dagger suggested that the Banner Leaders could treat with him at any time to ask further questions about the campaign and its details thus far. Later, after the conclusion of the Pan Mythodean Trade Conference, one such meeting took place. By this time, Validar had good news to report. Enough food rations were secured to last through the winter and deep into the following spring.
Pan Mythodean Trade Conference and Crusade Supplies

Every year for the past few years, Raûl Mazhahk ân Oshead, Manca'quar des Reichs ddr Rosen, has hosted the Pan Mythodean Trade Conference. This year's saw the largest turnout of merchants and customers to date. It also included a brief violent conflict involving an alleged theft. This interruption only slowed the opening of event.
As the Trade Conference kicked off, customers, merchants and trade representatives of nations stormed the tables, trade goods and product samples. The Crusaders, Validar, were present as well represented by Master Djako Kaevh, Master Merchant of the East Blackwood Company and Khaz A Bran of the Sulfur Forges, Trade Officer of the Iron City and representative for Gorasia. Together Djako and Kaz a bran earned enough resources to found the Crusade of the Elements until at least spring.
Hanse Revitalized!
Starting
the previous year, the Mitrasperanische Hanse has been hard at work
rebuilding its trade organization throughout Mythodea. With the
disappearance of Tares O'Grady Windschreiter, the Leader of the Hanse,
the organization worked tirelessly to consolidate their holdings after
the Cataclysm. During the Convent of the Elements the Mitrasperanische
Hanse, consisting of of the See and Land Hanse, hosted their Hanse
Convention. Although the details of the Convention are a trade secret,
the Hanse agreed upon new Statues and discussed important buisness
matters including recruitment, ship inventory and Thousandwasser Haffen
the latter currently under dispute with the Märkischer Bund.
As the Hanse Convention concluded, it was possible to bring new applicants to the Hanse for consideration. Lord Sir Dagger of East Blackwood brought Master Djako Kaevh, Master Merchant of the East Blackwood Company and Khaz A Bran of the Sulfur Forges, Trade Officer of the Iron City, Lieutenant and Civil Officer 1st Degree of the GEG, son of Gelendeel of the Sulfur Forges Chief Runesmith of the Iron City and son of Zhu Xiaojin Metal Elementalist of the Iron City. Djako and Kaz a Bran both gained temporary membership until the new Hanse Statues are fully transcribed and implemented for use.
East Blackwood Company Dinner

Every year at the Convent of the Elements, the East Blackwood
Company meets for their yearly company meeting. Since last Convent,
this has been combined with a Company dinner. Also since last year, the
Meeting ended with the start of the East Blackwood Company Party; a
tradition for four years so far. The Company had a lot to talk about but
more importantly celebrate. Life was getting more difficult for the
Company and its members but the quest came first and the E.B.Co was
pushing ever forward.
East Blackwood Company Party and Wedding Theater!
Last year's East Blackwood Company Party saw the company pull "Herr Phishness, the Nyam Nyam One"
in an E.B.Co wagon laden with alcohol around Bad Holzbrück from tavern
to tavern starting at the Golden Anchor. This year's party saw the
company play host to many guests in the Validar camp. The festivities
started with Wedding Theater which told the story of Makø and Bødvar
Tock and their eventual marriage.
The story started with Dagger and Bødvar, playing themselves, fighting the Fae of the Ancient world together and Ora of the East Blackwood Company playing their enemy Morgan. This was followed by the arrival of Logaan and Makø's arrival in Mythodea and the Ancient world with a lack of Coins... and Bier! The story ended with the wedding of Makø and Bødvar Tock and the wedding gift of the E.B.Co's Coins... and Bier, which was given without permission to the wedding couple by Lady Anna, played by herself.
The entire theater was narrated by William Klatch. At the end of the play Makø Tock made sure to remind people that she still lacked, Coins! ... And Beer!
The Crusader Barons Call for Duchess Candidates
With matters
such as Northern Seal trade embargo and military posturing, Western Seal
anger and tension resulting in further trade and supply disruptions,
confusion in the Fortress of Diversity over the naming of barons without
land and the direction and goals of the Crusade of the Elements, rumors
of the Naldar being unhappy with the direction of the Crusade and more,
it was plainly clear that the Validar Crusaders needed strong central
leadership. They needed a figurehead that could perhaps grow into a
head-of-state one day. They needed a noble to create balance within the
Crusader Baronies and be their diplomatic shield and guide in
Mythodea.
And so, the barons approached three noble ladies and asked them to become candidates to be the first Duchess of Validar; Lady Sayeh of Sapphire Isle and East Blackwood, Lady Molly of Zweiwasser and, Lady Vanadis of the Phoenix Realm.
Duchess Candidates Open Court
The Validar Duchess Candidates were presented to the gathered people of Gorasia, East Blackwood and Zweiwasser.
After they were presented they introduced themselves. Following that the crusaders were given time to ask any questions they wished of the candidates and all candidates and all three noble ladies were to answer each question. The questions asked were varried in nature including questions like "what will you do for the people of Validar" and "how would your respond to the diplomatic incident like that with the Freischaerler."
After the questions had run their course the Crusaders and people of Validar were invited to get to know the Ladies better and to speak with the Crusader Barons about how they feel about each one, which they would prefer and why for their Duchess. After the Open Court concluded, there was near two days to speak to the Barons and Candidates and to observe them in their work while the Ladies Sayeh, Molly and Vanadis prepared for a ritual ceremony to recharge the Element's Shrine.
The Ceremony to Recharge the Shrine of the Five Elements
Validar and
the Crusaders were called to return at the seventh hour on the final day
of the Convent to witness the Duchess Candidates perform their Shrine
Ceremony. As Validar gathered, so too did many from throughout Bad
Holzbrück and Mythodea. The ceremony started with Lady Sayeh
making two two offerings. The first was the presentation of the Five
Candles Ceremony which tells the story the heroes who brought down the
beast known as the Pestilence Crab and of those who's flame had burned
out forever in the act. Lady Sayeh followed the story with the
presentation of Lord Sir Vawn Coupant's first Knights of the Eternal Flame belt and his words to her about personal struggles and the betterment of self.
Lady Sayeh's presentation was followed by Lady Molly's who presented five artifacts, one for each Element. The artifacts were rare relics and items which could be used in times of great need when the Shrine itself is unable to provide. She followed this act with five bowls filled with small items representing the Elements. Each person present was invited to take from one of the bowls and give an offering to the shrine and, more often than not, words of dedication. This processes went on for some time as one by one guests and Crusaders came forward to offer their words and will.
Finally, Lady Vanadis came forward and delivered the final dedication. Vanadis delivered an impassioned speech that captivate the crowed. It spoke from the heart and of the future. It was a speech of hope and a new day. With the words, dedications and acts made, the Ceremony was concluded. The Crusader Barons then retired to a private meeting where they discussed who they would crown to be their new Duchess. One our later, the people would once again gather for the decision and coronation.
The Coronation of the Duchess of Validar
One hour
later, the Crusader Barons of Validar, Sir Balor the Spiritual and Moral
Guide of the Crusade of the Elements, the crusaders, people and guests
convened for the decision and coronation. With all gathered, each Baron
spoke about one of the Ladies before them. Lord Sir Dagger of East
Blackwood spoke of Lady Molly of Zweiwasser. He spoke of her ability to
spoke to the sentiments of the layman and her grounded demeanor. Lord
Ser Varek of Zweiwasser then spoke of Lady Sayeh of Sapphire Isle and
East Blackwood. He spoke of her ability to read fine details in
everyone she observes and the love the people had for her. Finally,
Lord Tarin of Gorasia spoke of Lady Vanadis of the Phoenix Empire's
diplomatic ability and experience as well as her drive to bring balance
to Validar and the Crusaders.
As the kind and well earned
words hung in the air, Lord Tarin stepped forward and delivered the
Baron's decision: Lady Vanadis. Tarin stepped back and Sir Balor, the
Crusade's Faith Leader, stepped forward and asked Lady Vanadis to knee
before the Shrine of the Elements and she did with grace and humility.
Sir Balor spoke the words of the Duchess's Oath asking if Vanadis would
live for Validar. She swore to do so and was blessed with sacred oils.
Lady Elene' the Fire Dancer presented a circlet on a pillow to Sir Balor
which he took and placed on Vanadis's head.
Lady Vanadis rose, Duchess Vanadis of Validar.
Duchess Vanadis Recognizes Djako Kaevh and Kaz a Bran
As Vanadis's first act as Duchess, she called Master Djako Kaevh and Kaz a Bran von den Schwefelessen forward. She recongized their hard work and success in acquiring ample supplies for the Crusade's first year and presented them both with gifts, tokens of her and the Crusade's appreciation.
Bødvar named Investigator of Validar
As the day wore down to a close there were still important matters to tend to. As the core of the Crusade, Validar, was forming it was going to need its own Investigator less one be appointed to them by the Ruler's Council. Bødvar "BeerHunter" Tock put his name forward for the duty and Lord Sir Dagger supported this candidate. Ser Maron of Zweiwasser stepped forward presenting himself for the role as well. Unfortunately for the two candidates, only one could be the primary Investigator. Ultimately, with the Duchess's instance that the investigator role is not the best for a Knight, Bødvar Tock was named Investigator of Validar as part of the Investigators of the Ruler's Council with Ser Maron as his second.
Beria de Eline and the Wardens of Knowledge
During the Convent of the Elements, with the assistance of Tawar of the Thoringard, Beria de Eline worked to forge an organization of knowledge seeking and research. By the end of the Convent Beria managed to accomplish seals and signatures from most of the major Mythodean Realms with the notable exclusion of the Northern and Southern Seals.
Back to War
The Convent of the Elements proved to be a respite for many of the attendees but as the festivities came to a close, it was time to return the troubles plaguing Mythodea and beyond. The Crusaders were to return to their respective areas of operation in the Crusade of the Elements to cleanse Kahl'Hatra. The small delegations that had been sent to needed to return to their supply lines, their ships, their war camps and or to prepare for the first major push into the lands presently dominated by the Black Dynasty. The War does not wait...
The Realms / Coronation of King Shandar of Invictus
04.06.2023
The Nation of Invictus invited the denizens of the Realms to bare whitness to the coronation of King Shandar Silverstorm. Invictus, a proud and powerful nation, has been a prominent land in the Realms for many years calling many ancient lands vassals. However, Invictus had never formally crowned a king to rule them in spite of their size and power. This all changed this past spring at Sir Shandar's coronation. Lady Sayeh of Saphire Isle and Blackwood was among the the dignitaries present to witness the ceremony and pay respects to the new Monarch.

A tournament was hosted in the future King's Honor. The tournament was composed of hand-picked events chosen by the future king himself. The winners of the events received prizes courtesy of Sir Shandar. Also available to the future king's guests during the day were events in magic and item acquiring. There was no shortage of entertainment for the dignitaries and friends of Invictus.
After the daytime entertainment had waned, the host was invited to adorn their finery and join the Court of Invictus inside the Great Hall for a feast courtesy of Sir Daekara and his kitchen staff.
After the feast concluded, all of the present people of Invictus
gathered beside Sir Shandar Silverstorm. Shalindra took the crown and
called to various magics and entities to imbue it with power and to
bless it. This was done to make the Crown worthy of a King. After this
ritual blessing which included herbs and incense, Shalindra declared
that the crown was ready. When the crown was ready, it was brought
before Sir Shandar where he spoke an oath to be a just ruler of the new
Kingdom of Invictus. Once the oath was made, King Shandar took the
crown and crowned himself King of Invinctus.
King Shandar then named his daughter Eris as his royal heir.
Invictus
re-swore their fealty to their king as well as the representatives of
the attending lands of Invictus. Following the Oaths of Invictus, gifts
were presented to his majesty, King Shandar. The First Court of
Invictus followed where dignitaries were allowed to speak before those
gather and his majesty. An item of note
Crown Prince Saegen of Blackwood stepped forward before his Majesty King Shandar and announced that he had wished to take a new squire but it had to be the right person. After some time and consideration he set his eye on Hedda Whan-Hedda of Blackwood. Hedda's work with logistics and as a task master for the crown displayed her potential which could one day earn her the title and responsibility of Knight of Blackwood. She accepted.
Following the court proceedings, dessert was provided in the feast hall. Outside of the halls, people joined the fires to celebrate the newly crowned sovereign.
The next day, in the late morning, brunch was served. Closing out the festivities of the coronation was a Battle of
the Bards!
The criers at "The Ambassador" congratulate the new King of Invictus, his Majesty, King Shandar.

Mythodea / Diplomacy Made Easy in Kahl'Hatra?
16.05.2023
While many nations from Mythodea were once again called to serve the Elements in Kahl'Hatra, the united Crusaders of the Elements, Gorasia, East Blackwood, Zweiwasser, Thoringaard and other allies completed several scouting missions into East Kahl'Hatra and came together West Kal'Hatra to discuss the findings and the plan moving forward as well as aid in the regional conflict. During the conflict in the forests of West Kahl'Hatra, the crusader camp worked to gather support, supplies and soldiers for the freshly started crusade as well as to plan the next for weeks of their campaign. While there, the situation turned dark among the fighting to cleanse the area of Forsaken.
Conflict in the Forest
Many a
Mythodean were called to the forest of West Kahl'Hatra via a dream of
sorts. The Crusade of the Elements pivoted a portion of their force to
join them in hopes of collecting further scouting intelligence of the
situation in East Kahl'Hatra as well as further support and supplies.
It was also a chance to test the crusade's ability to fight together,
with Ser Antonius of the Realm of Roses as Marshal, as
surely the forest had not called out for a picnic. And as we all know,
where there are no picnics there are surely Forsaken and Skargen.
The maxim proved correct as the settlers found themselves dragged into a conflict to protect two special trees within the forest and the forest itself from Undead, Black Dynasty and Skargen. These very same trees were later healed and reconnected by the settlers. Within the domain of the forest was also an artifact that the undead king Garvan had been searching for in hopes of making himself corporal in form, a ring. The settlers managed to claim this item as well after defeating a baron of the Undead Flesh.
The Naming of Validar
During an chaotic battle with Skargen, Black Dynasty and Undead Flesh, the Crusaders of the Elements took to calling themselves Validar naturally to helm them organize in the field. The name has its roots in Kahl'Hatra lore where it is a mythical bird that eats dragonflies. The name was seen by the Crusaders as fitting and later chosen unanimously as the name they shall carry into the war in Kahl'Hatra.
War Council, Crusade in Kahl'Hatra
The combined peoples of East Blackwood, Thoringaard, Gorasia and Zweiwasser sent word to the nations of Mythodea requesting their presence at a war council for the Crusade to liberate Kahl'Hatra. After the initial start of the council was interrupted by problems in the forest, the second start a few hours later proved to be more successful. Sir Balor, Tarrin of Gorasia, Sir Dagger of Blackwood and Ser Antonius of the Realm of Roses hosted the council with aid from other key people within the Crusaders now known as Validar.
Representatives from many Mythodean nations attended. Among those represented were the Western Seal, Realm of Roses, Münzquell and others. Ser Balor the Red explained once more the reason for the Crusade and the need for it before scouting reports were collected and reviewed. After, a plan for the next four weeks of the campaign was agreed upon. Many representatives agreed to supply aid in at least supplies of which some will be collected at the Convent of the Elements after the initial four weeks.
We at "The Ambassador" have been asked not to share details of deployments and troop movements for operational security. The Forsaken and Skargen have eyes and Ears everywhere.

Assassination attempt on Lord Protector Darius
On the final day of the spring campaign to West Kahl'Hatra, a despicable individual made an attempt on the life of Lord Protector Darius of the Northern Seal, General of the Nothern Armies. This act of aggression against a settler, an esteemed and well respected leader among the Northern Settlers is detestable. However, "The Ambassador" is happy to report that Lord Darius lives and is expected to make a full recovery. As of this moment no assassin has been caught for questioning nor is the identity of the would-be-murderer yet uncovered. Once we have more information on this act, we will report it in our next articles.

Bicolline / Mundus Sortie
12.05.2023
Monsters summoned and released on Mundus of the Empire! Significant damage done to Bicolline as a result! The Ambassador's anonymous sources place the fault of these horrific actions squaring in the hands of Les Erudits Alphonse de la Vigne dit La Defonce, Toki Tokisson, Bertin de la Basse-Cours, Avantak et Quajdi Zumar Al-Zaman utilisent a deux reprises le pourvoir "Bouleversement" a l'aide de dix energies pures dans le cadran Centre. The story bellow.
Consortium of
Imperial
Adventurers
(C.I.A.)
Circular Letter - Public Notice
To all honest taxpayers of all Nations of the Mundus,
To all Imperial Citizens,
To all Peasants, Burghers, Honest Merchants, Barons, Lords and others in their most cibilized and exotics variations,
But also, to all the "Érudits" who did not get involved in this senseless muscle-flexing debacle.
We, the Scholars of the Silver Owl, joined by the Consortium of Imperial Adventurers (C.I.A.), want to emphasize on the fact that we are explorers who have dedicated our lives to discovering the wonders and mysteries of the Mundus. It is with great dismay that we come to you today to express our anger at the irresponsible actions of certain Érudits who have upset the earthly balance of the entire world in the hope of attacking the Empire of the Center Lands.
We have observed that these Érudits have opened Telluric rifts in their insatiable quest for violence, creating nuisances that have not only penetrated Imperial soil, but have especially infected the lands of other nations. Not only were their actions reckless, but their Telluric rifts have flayed the fabric of the world and will harm both their allies and their enemies. This results in fratricidal fire that can only destroy the confidence and trust of their allies. This collateral damage and the use of these high impact powers greatly outweighs the effects felt by the Empire.
Can these Érudits ever be trusted again, after being reduced to the role of an indiscriminate force of destruction? Our most precious and pure energies were used by these cowards to weaken rather than protect the very fabric of our world. No conflict between Nations justifies such infamy! It is a betrayal of the very role and definition of the Érudit. This betrayal cannot and must not be ignored.
As Explorers, we have seen the Wonders of our world, but we have also witnessed its fragility. We know that the actions of the Érudits can have serious and lasting consequences in the world - the proof is before you!
This is an attack on the known world. It is an assault on the way of life of each and every one of our Nations, a threat to every culture - not only the one of the Empire. These philistines-who think-they-are-worthy-Érudits-have unleashed destructive forces that disrupt the stability and work of all tax collectors and threaten the well-being of all communities and societies. We therefore call upon all who are outraged by these actions to join us and mobilize to protect the known world.
We call upon all Nations and Explorers to take immediate action to close these Telluric cracks in our Mundus and to prevent further unauthorized foreign intrusions into our territory.
This is a dark season for which our entire world must remember forever. And so that we may never forget it, let us take the time to name this infamy. History will remember that it was in 1023 that the 20 treasons of the Érudits occurred.
Let us work together to heal the wounds inflicted on our precious Mundus.
It is the only one where we can pay our taxes, and live happily.
Wishing you a favorable Syta,

Lettre circulaire - Avis public

Mythodea / Call to War
14.03.2023
A call for war. Several years ago the lands of Kahl'Hatra fell and was taken over by the Forsaken Black Ice. To this day, much of Kahl'Hatra is occupied and corrupted by their presence. The Narech'Tuloch told us that the land must be healed and Ser Balor the Knight of Ashes saw this in his visions. It was these visions that brought Balor to call on friends, allies, lords and ladies and settlers of Mythodea to join him in Zweiwasser for a Crusade Council. There, the visions would be explained, questions would be answered and; with a little luck and faith, support would be given. Many answered the call. A new front opens now against the Forsaken; a front that once again brings us back to Kahl'Hatra deep in Mythodea!

Zweiwasser hosted the Crusade Council in the City of Drachenbrück in a guildhall. The guildhall was big enough to fit dignitaries as well as the common folk of Zweiwasser. Of the dignitaries present, Archon of the South, Eurestes of Corinth, Lady Vanadis of Goldgrund, Ser Benedict of Hohenwacht, Rii Liandra zu Wolfenau were just a few of the prominent names. East Blackwood and Gorasia were also among those gathered but they were already firm allies of Zweiwasser. The city district where the council was boasted a Gorasian Tea House, an East Blackwood Company shop, a wine cellar, a gaming hall and more. There was no lack of potential activities for those visiting. Unfortunately, there was a more serious matter that had to be addressed first before such amenities could be enjoyed and before the Council would meet.
The Trial of Elizabeth Feder "Lisska"
A
few years
prior, a charismatic man by who went by the name Schwarzhand (Black
Hand)
rallied the population into a rebellion.
His oration was supported by the difficult times that led up to the
Great Cataclysm; the people hungered, crops failed, weather was harsh
and
mysterious deaths occurred throughout the whole of Mythodea. When
finally the rebellion grew large enough to
take the City of Drachenbrück, Zweiwasser's capital, Schwarzhand led one
to
three thousand souls against its walls.
During that altercation to save the city, Ser Briceus von Thalgrund, the
Castellan
of the Altmark of Zweiwasser, poured burning pitch over the walls
effectively dispersing the
armed mob. What followed was an attempt
on his life by a peasant woman, Elizabeth Feder, who had watched her
brother and father
burned to death during the Black Hand Rebellion's assault of
Drachenbrück. Elizabeth called Lisska was not successful. She was
apprehended and held for tial.
The trial was called the night before Council was to take place. Ser Briceus von Thalgrund explained the proceedings and stated as Castellan he would have the last word and be the judge. He called for someone to prosecute, someone to defend and four counselors to assist in making the verdict. Rii Liandra zu Wolfenau, Waffenmeister Morgalis Sturmklinge, Ser Antonius and Deidre von Hain offered their services as counsel to the judge while Ser Maron von Brendenoh stepped forward as prosecution and Hofmarschall Heinrich von Buntfestse as defense.
Corporal Bødvar Tock of the Embassy Guard stepped forward to put forward the argument that the victim of the attack should not be the judge of the crime. The counselors and, after contemplation, Ser Briceus accepted the words of Bødvar. However, Bødvar was not the one to take Ser Briceus's place as judge. Instead, they chose Ser Benedict of Hohenwacht. Ser Benedict, reluctant in appearance, stepped forward to do his due diligence. He took his position and spoke with the practice of someone who has presided over such proceedings before.
The trial commenced. A few witnesses were called to the floor. Key among them were the defendant and the victim. The focus of the trial was not to judge guilt but to determine a just punishment. It was the opinion of the court that Elizabeth Feder was already guilty of the crime and her defense did nothing to deny that fact. Before the trial had even begun, Elizabeth Feder had pled guilty to the crime.
After some wise words from Lady Vanadis of Goldgrund, the trial was put into recess for the remainder of the evening. The court would allow for final comments the next day and soon after the verdict of punishment was to be delivered. However, this was not to happen without some trouble from the local Aale gang.
The Aale Gang
The Aale broke Elizabeth Feder out of the dungeon and dragged her to the nearby wine cellar. There they held her under guard with weapons trained both on the door and on her. It appeared as if they had no interested in the woman's safety accept to line their own purses. The Aale demanded a large some of silver to let the woman go free. Sir Dagger of Blackwood counseled that if the money were given then the promise would be held. What happened after was up to Zweiwasser. Therefore, the coin was indeed given and Elizabeth was free. However, the Aale knew the city well and used a hidden tunnel to escape before the Drachengarde of Zweiwasser could apprehend them.
This altercation came to blows in the streets after the Drachengarde, Embassy Guard, Thoringaard and, Zackenberg soldiers hunted them down. A fight brewed and in the end, the gang members present were dead. Elizabeth Feder intercepted a bolt from one of the Aale which was intended for Ser Briceus von Thalgrund. She put herself in front of its path to protect the man she had tried to kill. Elizabeth "Lisska" Feder was taken once more into the custody of the Drachengarde where she was healed.
The Verdict
The trial concluded with impassioned words from the Archon of the South, Eurestes of Corinth and Lady Vanadis of Goldgrund. The Archon's words contributed to the selfless act of saving Ser Briceus's life earlier that day to perhaps aid in softening the results. Ser Benedict of Hohenwacht delivered the Councel's suggestion to the authority of Zweiwasser and the Altmark, Ser Briceus. The suggestions of justice included that Elizabeth would not be executed but instead would perform a prolonged service. To deliver the final verdict, Ser Briceus stepped forward stating that he had heard all that his council had presented and that, with his noble right as Castellan of the Altmark of Zweiwasser, would change the outcome slightly. Due to the selfless act of saving his life, Ser Briceus declared that the punishment of service was concluded and that Elizabeth would not be executed. The court and those present rejoiced at the outcome.
"There exists an unwritten contract between noble and people. The people provide and the noble protects." - Ser Dagger of Blackwood.
Call to Crusade
The first half of the trial had taken place the night before with the second half scheduled to start later in the day. At the 10th hour however, the first Council of the Crusade took place. Ser Balor called many to attend with letters written the night before. More than was expected turned out for the meeting. The hall was filled with dignitaries centered on a large table and a grand map of Mythodea. Balor welcomed all comers and spoke of his visions. Balor received a vision by the Elements calling him to Crusade and he hoped to rally others to do the same. "Kahl'hatra must be cleansed of the Forsaken" and that was what he intended to do.
His Excellency, the Archon of the South, Eruestes of Corinth announced that he was willing to send soldiers of the Southern Seal to Kahl'hatra and the Gorasians committed themselves to the crusade. Sir Dagger of Blackwood had to step away to deal with a private matter at this time but left Lady Anna-Katharina von Rabenau und Blackwood to speak for East Blackwood. Lady Anna pledged the support of East Blackwood and the Kingdom of Blackwood to the cause. The Lizardfolk of The Monsor and the men and women of Thoringaard, friends of East Blackwood, also lent their swords to the Crusade.
To add to the initial show of support, Lady Vanadis of Goldgrund and Ser Benedict of Hohewacht intend to contribute supplies and coin. Captain Salkya Fedora ya Camargo-Berlinghan lent the services of her ship, and the Reeve of Mondenhein, Sheewa Mondblut offered support as well. All in all the show of support was solid for the start but more must follow should the warriors of the Elements hope to succeed. During the second meeting after the conclusion of the trial more support would follow as well as a general plan to act from and to build upon.
Planning for War
Late in the day, the Second Council of the Crusade to Kahl'hatra took place. This time the preliminary plans for war were discussed. Many of those present spoke their true and honest concerns with such an undertaking while some spoke out against the idea as simply too much for Mythodea to handle. Such doubt was not expected among the faithful of the Elements but it was present in that room. Voices of reason, logic and for the Elements spoke up lending their strength to the cause. Ser Balor received four of five blessings from representatives of the Elements leaving only Aeris's representative, Waffenmeister Morgalis Sturmklinge to contemplate. Many declared their support of coin, supplies and soldiers to the cause that day. The Nurech'Tuloch suggested it was possible that they could assist with scouts and Count Khadan Berlinghan agreed to organize all of the scouting reports. Ser Antonius lent his sword while Calgar offered the services of his new mercenary band, the League of the Panther.
Some positions were assigned to the crusade army as well. Ser Antonius would take over military planning for the first attacks while; Ser Dagger of Blackwood would serve as the master of supplies. A general plan was also formed which included securing supply lines, the safest approaches for allied forces and the potential points of initial attacks and scouting missions. At the urging of Tovak of the Southern Seal, representatives would also be chosen to collect and disseminate knowledge and news of the war to the rest of Mythodea.
Conclusion
There leaves much to be done but the will of the Elements has been answered. The wheels of war are in motion. This new band of warriors, merchants, scouts, tradespersons, cooks and people now prepare to march on Kahl'hatra with the promise to rid it of the Forsaken corruption or to die trying.

Bicolline / Gold Found in Tourg
09.03.2023
In the earlier winter of R.C.Y 1013, the Realms Embassy sent 5 people to the domain of Tourg to scout the region. There they discovered a large deposit of gold. How the gold will be used remains to be seen. In the past, the Realms Embassy has sent gold among other minerals to the East Blackwood and Realms Embassy in Mythodea. Perhaps the same will happen here or the gold will be used for other provential projects within the domains administered by the Realms Embassy in Bicolline.

A combined force of Mythodeans sailed by ship to Atteron for the Night of Happiness but as they disembarked they were met with the sight of a siege of. The Mythodean ships traveled from Mythodea for anywhere from 10 days to several weeks through the Fog before arriving. Once there the siege intensified with the walls of the castle being bombarded by Skargen siege weapons. Reports from the location claim that the siege at Geisterfels (Ghost Rock) has been underway for just under a month by the time of the Mythodean arrivals.
Day 1 after the Mythodean Arrival
Three of the Atteronian witches did their best to maintain a magic barrier to protect the castle but their strength was weakening. The Mythodean host fought the Skargen outside the walls of the castle for a long while before finally Atteron opened the gates. Once in the gates the collected Atteroni and Mythodeas organized their combined militaries, healers, mages and knowledge seekers.

It was reported that two of Atteron's four princes had been captured by the Skargen. Prince Aenwyn of Atteron died in captivity. Later, Prince Finlay, the twin of Prince Alva, died in a duel against the Skargen. At this point the Mythodeans agreed collectively to support Atteron against the Skargen. Lady Anna-Katharina von Rabenau and Blackwood assisted the Iron Daggers of the Northern Seal in collecting stones of magic from the Keimling (a tree of protection) outside the walls to grant the Attoroni witches the power needed to continue protecting the caslte. All this was only within the first day of the arrival of the Mythodeans. In the process two of the Iron Daggers of the Northern Seal were captured.
Day 2 after the Mythodean Arrival
As the prime star rose in the sky, the Atteronian witches gave the Keimling power of which Lady Anna of Rabenau and Blackwood participated. Kaela, Leader of the Fortress of Diversity, was named Warmaster and Sir Raven of the Iron Daggers her second. Atteron and its Mythodea allies under Kaela's command fight back and forth battles with the besieging Skargen. During the fighting, one of the Attoroni princes entered the fray cutting down several Skargen raiders on his own.
On the second day after the arrival, the Atteroni witches with others from the Mythodean host including Lady Anna von Rabenau and Blackwood perform a grand ritual to protect the castle using the items that were collected on the previous day.
Fae arrived in Atteron brought by a special Mirror. The
witches of Atteron made deals with the Fae to gain power. This power
was used to help protect the castle.
King Garvan of the Undead who had lived in that location before their deaths, wanted a book back that he had written when he had lived there. The pressence of Terra had perviously forced Garvan and the undead away but now it was possible to return for the book.
Day 3 after the Mythodean Arrival
On
the third day after the Mythodean arrival, the body of Prince Aenwyn of
Atteron was found. To the great sadness of Atteron, a new Crown Prince
needed to be named. This would be Prince Alvar.
The
Book of Garvan appeared this day as well after being summoned in a
ritual by Atteron and the Mythodeans. The arrival of the brook also
brought with it the Undead who caused additional problems to the
Atteroni and Mythodeans. Garvan's arrival caused furher problems as he
began to control the Atteroni.
Shadows began to appear sometime after the arrival of Garvan, spawned by a Death-fae.
Olibria,
witch of the In-Between managed to trick the shadow creatures to
believe she was in possession of the book, which saved everyone some
time to try and find a better place for it. Unfortunately, as the
enemies discovered the deception- they punished her by breaking her
mental will.
Together with further magic users Lady Anna fought the Shadows off and cleansed the mages who were corrupted by the dark hypnosis. In the end, however, the Undead managed to get the book- Garvan and his allied anti elemental servants were too strong.
Although the battle seemed won it was not a victory one could easily celebrate. However, Atteron hosted a maskerade ball anyway. There were dance courses offered prior to the ball to both prepare the Mythodeans for the event and to allow them to rest and recouperate from the days of battle. The ball itself was a grand affair with many dancing and even marraige proposals were made. Rumor has it that Sir Rooster of the Iron Daggers in the Northern Seal asked Kaela of the Fortress of Diversity if she would allow him to marry an Iron Dagger woman by then name of Eleanor.
At the end of the voyage, one could hope only to remind themselves the reasons for living in spite of the deaths that one had whitnessed first hand during the Siege in Atteron.

The Realms / New High Mage and Champion
02.03.2023
Every year the Nation of Rhiassa hosts its yearly Feast of Leviathan. Kingdoms, Duchies, Baronies and other lands from around The Realms gather at a small Rhiassan fishing villiage for the Feast of Leviathan. Individual nations also host special events among themselves during this gathering, the Kingdom of Blackwood included among them. This article focuses on two important Sworn Citizens of the Kingdom of Blackwood and what they achieved there and plan to do in the future.
At
the Feast of Leviathan in Rhiassa,
Trials and Tournaments
were held to determine a new Champion of Blackwood, and a New High
Mage.
They were asked to introduce themselves in their own
words, as well as what they hope to achieve this year in their new
positions.
Letter from the New Champion of the Kingdom of Blackwood
To the many powers of Mythodea,
I have been tasked to draft this formal writ introduction to all those who may do business with those employed under my newly acquired position and purview. This offer of introduction stands as a statement of my ideals in an attempt to forgo any misunderstandings as to the expectations I hold for the masses which fall beneath my jurisdiction.
I, Sir Vesper of Blackwood, have sworn to my King and Countrymen to serve as an example of skill and stalwart defense to all those who wear our crest. I beseech all to heed these statements with grave sobriety as I seek now to formally notify all who believe they may interfere with the people, interests, or equity of the Kingdom of Blackwood. I pride myself as a peerless master of both martial and mystical prowess who holds those under him to the same standards of excellence. I seek no glory upon my battle and no honor to my tactics, yet make no error both hold ample efficiency. I implore you to comprehend that no legends nor myth shall be told of another unremarkable stain upon the blades of Blackwood.
I mean you no offense with these statements and wish to apologize for any you may find within these words. I find myself sufficiently lacking in the formal courtly manners of knighthood. Consider that any Courtesy which is gifted to those who fall under my banner will be met equally in kind. Any wealth found in partnership with us shall be prorated justly. Any and all transgressions upon us shall be returned ferociously. Those in East Blackwood now work and act within my name and faculty. I beg any who read these words to fathom the consequences they now face should they stand against our interests.
I have been informed by Lady Sayeh and Sir Dagger that the lands of Mythodea are full of many righteous heroes, potent mages, and noble warriors who may seek glory and honor. To those who seek such eminence I implore you to work alongside my kin. Lastly, I pray that when I arrive in your lands finally that it shall not be for your final journey.
Cordially yours,
SirVesperKnight of Blackwood

Former High Mage of Blackwood
Letter from the New High Mage of the Kingdom of Blackwood
Hello, my name is Liana Lae'lae'an,
Hello, my name is Liana Lae'lae'an,
I am Khae Ossrim, of the House of Flame; 'Fire good,' as I say frequently. I was made a [Sworn Citizen] of Blackwood in September at the Feast of Blackwood. Prince Saegan invited me to call Blackwood my home - as I have been without family for many years now - and I accepted. Recently, at the Feast of Leviathan, I won the title of High Mage of Blackwood. I am honored and curious and a little terrified. What if I am not helpful enough to Blackwood?
There is a schism within Domai, another plane of existence which currently has no separation from part of Blackwood, and that is concerning, interesting and very possibly incredibly hazardous to Blackwood and the Realms at large. I have met many of their people and as with most wars this seems to have started with the great heads of the houses of that land, and trickled down to the very villagers of each house. Hopefully a solution can be reached, and their realm sealed up again. I am currently looking into the forest in Shadowdragon which is of fire - the trees and creatures are not on fire, they are made of fire. There are a few villages that have curiosities happening as well throughout Blackwood, and others are looking at those. There are pending events where I hope to use my new title to advance the wishes of Blackwood when interacting with other people devoted to some of the deities who do not always see eye to eye with Blackwood.
I might also look into who has the bounty out on two members of Invictus, another nation of the realm, for a combined price of 3k gold. That much shiny could invite temptation, and success could cause a war.
My best to family across the sea, if you have need of me, just reach out.
Even the great sea - with all that water - would not stop me if the need were great. Ever faithfully,
Liana of Blackwood

Mythodea / Ad Astra: Auf Jahr und Tag
01.03.2023
Auf Jahr und Tag: Each year Ad
Astra hosts a gathering in the city of Asina.
Several years ago, the people and warriors of Ad Astra settled in the
ruins of an old city once built and occupied by an ancient Mythodean people
long since dead. Ad Astra has since
restored the beautiful architecture and added their own culture and flair to
it. This year, guest from near every
corner of Mythodea made the journey to Asina to celebrate with Ad Astra.
At the gathering, the Rulers of Ad Astra were not present but the three Ceanns were: Wulfgang Bauersfeld the Ceann der Krieger, Gozo von Tahat the Ceann of Coin and, Alayne Osfrydstochter the Caenn of Homeland and the Internal.

During the Year and a Day celebration, the Ceanns met with the various guests from throughout Mythode and beyond. Sir Dagger of Blackwood, Leader of the East Blackwood Company was among those guests who met with the Ceanns. On this occasion however, the focus of those meetings were strictly Hanse related as the Mitrasperanishe Hanse has been reconsolidating its holdings and reviewing its old contracts since the start of the previous year. Ad Astra was reportedly among one of the regions where prior Hanse contracts had been made.
Other honored guests that were present were from lands such as the Northern Seal where the Lord Protector of Palos Trutz had made the long voyage south to attend. Citizens of Oron and the Order of Gray Souls from the Realm of Roses were also present among settlers of the West and many from outside of Mythodea. All were of calm temperament and enjoyed the hospitality presented by the people of Ad Astra.
Ad Astra hosted in a complex of building they called "a tavern" but by its fine detail and decoration one would have mistaken it for a royal palace. The bar offered a variety of drinks including my types of mead. Seating for the tavern, hall and library was very comfortable and decorative in nature. The library itself was full of books and maps covering a wide range of topics and the setting allowed the peace needed to read them. Finally, the buffet that was presented throughout both days and evenings was exquisite offering many dishes varying in content and for differing tastes.
One must say that Ad Astra spared no expense on keeping their guests satisfied. Music and comfortable rooms were also provided along with a raffle and several matters of court to witness.

Mythodea / Castel del Sol
31.01.2023
For the 3rd year in a row, East Blackwood gathered at one of their meager holdings. Normally these gatherings are reserved for a feast and to host Blackwood Court but this one was different. This gathering at Castel del Sol in the City of Copperdale, within Lunorth in the Northern Seal of Mythodea, celebrated the lives of those who had passed on with a focus on Sir Dagger of Blackwood's uncle, Targret Arkenstone of Dragon Rose and Ceallach of the O'Annid the once Champion of East Blackwood's Embassy Guard.
The Gathering at Castel del Sol
Commander Anthem Devigil Delos HORD of
the Embassy Guard once again invited members of the Embassy Guard,
Embassy and East Blackwood Company, as well as two Blackwood
affiliated guests, to a feast in his home, Castel del Sol. His
guests arrived the day before the feast enjoyed each others company
at the East Blackwood Embassy Deputation in the E.B.Co Guild District
in Copperdale before venturing over to Castel del Sol the next
morning.
Commander Anthem welcomed his guests in the early evening before the stars were out in the sky and treated them to the first course of many and the gentle music of a group of bards. After the first and second courses ended Anthem's servant received letters for two of the guests, Lurius of the East Blackwood Company and one other that will remain unnamed. The letters contained a sort of contact poison which infected no less than five of those gathered. Broyan, Beria de Eline and Anthem responded as quickly as they could.
Once Commander Anthem got the initial symptoms were under control the letters were physically, alchemically and magically analyzed and a cure was devised. Beria de Eline worked magic, nearly killing himself in the process, to cure the infected of their ailment. The evidence was collected of the crime to add the already ongoing investigation. Sir Dagger claims that the notes of these investigations will be presented to the local authorities as needed.
In Memorium
After the poisoning indecent had passed, Commander Anthem apologized for the unfortunate event and it was time to honor the dead. Sir Dagger of Blackwood called the guests from the feast and other guests who had been gathering outside in the district for the occasion to honor their lost love ones. The ceremony began with the honoring of the fallen and moved slowly to honoring the passing of Targret Arkenstone of Dragon Rose who was Sir Dagger of Blackwood's uncle. A candle was lit in his honor and his name was recorded in In Memorium. After, Ceallach of the O'Annid was honored, a candle was lit for him, whiskey was spilled for him and then drank in his honor and then his name was recorded In Memorium.
As the honoring of the dead came to a close, Sir Dagger invited those who had gathered outside to stay and tell stories of their loved one's while the rest of the feast guests went inside for the next course of food and Blackwood Court.
East Blackwood Answers the Call to Crusade
Blackwood Court is an official
gathering presented by the nobility of Blackwood. Since the
Knighting of Sir Dagger of Blackwood, Blackwood Court has also been
hosted outside of Blackwood in Mythodea. The first major item of
Blackwood Court at the gathering at Castle Del Sol was the
announcement that in the spring of the previous year, Lady
Anna-Katharina von Rabenau was given Sworn Citizenship of Blackwood
by the Legets of the East and West in the name of the Kingdom of
Blackwood.
The other main topic that was discussed was a letter from Sir Balor of Zweiwasser which Sir Dagger had yet to open. The letter was opened by Corporal Bødvar and read to all those present. The letter spoke of a holy quest in the name of the Elements. It called upon those willing to help in this crusade. It called upon East Blackwood to help fight for the Elements once more in Kahl'hatra with the intention of staying there should the land be cleansed of the Forsaken. Sir Dagger asked all present if they would take up arms for the Elements and all present agreed individually of their own merit and reason join in the Holy Crusade. "For Crown and Country, East Blackwood!" was cried out in unity after the decision was made.
Lady Anna-Katharina von Rabenau then gave an impassioned speech to East Blackwood. She spoke of family, honor, strength and unity. She spoke of East Blackwood and its future. Sir Dagger among others were seen smiling in full agreement to the words spoken and perhaps with a bit of pride for East Blackwood was united in a common cause.
Joy Rising from Sadness
Everybody loves a wedding especially when it is not planned! For many years now Corporal Bødvar "BeerHunter" and Makø Tok have been sworn to one another yet they have never married. They have often been referred to as if they were married but this has not been the case. Late into the the night of drinking, gambling, eating and good company, Sir Dagger finally had enough of the two of them, and others, using each other as if they were indeed married. Sir Dagger offered to us the Blackwood Civil Wedding Ceremony right then and there to marry the two to one another. After a few nervous glances, Corporal Bødvar "BeerHunter" and Makø Tok agreed to be married.
Sir Dagger read from the Book of Blackwood by candle light. The two exchanged tokens of their bonds and were married before witnesses, a best man and woman and, without objection from those gathered. Bødvar, like Captain Varn Delany before him, took his wife's last name of Tok. We at the Ambassador wish the happy couple a joyous life. Congratulations Makø and Bødvar Tok.
